Real Madrid's LaLiga title prospects are bleak after Sunday's defeat in El Clasico, and now they could be without two key players.

Vinicius Junior and Lucas Vazquez could well have played their final Real Madrid matches of the season after sustaining injuries.

Madrid went down 4-3 in a thrilling Clasico on Sunday, as LaLiga leaders Barcelona took a huge step towards securing the title.

Kylian Mbappe's hat-trick was not enough for Los Blancos, who raced into a 2-0 lead before Barca hit back to lead 4-2 by half-time.

Vinicius teed up two of Mbappe's goals, but was taken off late on by Carlo Ancelotti, whose impending exit from Madrid has since been confirmed.

Vazquez, meanwhile, was taken off in the 84th minute.

Madrid have now confirmed both players suffered injuries. While Vinicius sprained his left ankle, Vazquez sustained a thigh issue.

It means the duo could well miss Madrid's final three matches of the season.

Should Madrid fail to beat Mallorca on Wednesday, then the title will be Barca's, though a win for the Blaugrana over Espanyol on Thursday will get Hansi Flick's team over the line regardless.

Los Blancos will hope to have the pair fit for the upcoming Club World Cup, which begins in mid-June.

By that time, Xabi Alonso is expected to be in charge.
