Silva wants more from 'ambitious' Fulham after club-record Premier League points haul

Fulham now have more points than they have ever achieved in a single Premier League season but that is not enough for Marco Silva.
Marco Silva has implored Fulham to stay on track with his "ambitious" plan after Sunday's enthralling 3-2 win at Brentford set a club record for Premier League points.
A quickfire double from Tom Cairney and Harry Wilson midway through the second half earned the victory for Fulham, who completed a league double over their West London rivals for the first time since 1947-48.
It means Fulham have amassed 54 points with one game still to play – the most they have ever accumulated in the Premier League.
Fulham can also still finish eighth, a position that potentially earns a spot in Europe, but Silva does not want to stop there.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "It breaks the points tally from our football club, something this club has never done.
"The fans were very loud this afternoon. They were always there, and it was for the away fans.
"I'm never satisfied and I want to push more. I know it's not silverware, and we want to push in the competitions as much as we can. We want more and to go as high as we can.
"It's a great achievement and it's a statement from this group of players. Now we have more points to fight for against Manchester City.
"The plan is there and clear. The board knows already. The plan is there on the table. It is an ambitious one, let's see what we can do. The club wants to move forward."
Fulham had led through Raul Jimenez's 16th-minute header but Bryan Mbeumo levelled the scoring and then missed a penalty prior to Yoane Wissa putting Brentford in front.
Consequently, Fulham were victors in a game where they had led, trailed, and come from behind for the first time in the Premier League in what was the 57th time the club had scored first then fallen behind in the competition.
Reflecting on the two minutes between goals from Cairney and himself in the second half, Wilson – who scored twice in the reverse fixture – said to Premier League productions: "It was mental game. I didn't think we started too well, but we scored a goal on the counter-attack. Leno saves the penalty and I thought that would give us more life.
"When me and Josh King came on, he told us to influence the ball, and we did that for the first goal.
"I didn't think it would happen again. It was disappointing to be on the bench, but to score was great.
"Before the game, we were thinking of swapping sides because of the sun, but we didn't because a late winner meant we could celebrate with the fans late on.
"We were gutted when we lost a couple of games, but we knew there was a club record to break and we were desperate to do that so everyone in that changing room is now in the clubs history."
Brentford, for now at least, remain eighth but can be overtaken by both Brighton and Hove Albion, and Bournemouth.
Mbeumo's missed spot-kick was his first failure for the Bees after 11 successful attempts, while Brentford's six penalties won is the most in the top flight this season.
Speaking to BBC Match of the Day, boss Thomas Frank conceded he was "fuming" to lose the West London derby.
He said: "It's part of football, unfortunately. I think we played well in the first half, we were on top. We could have been out of sight.
"We missed a penalty and created other good situations and a lot of chances. It's very even in the second half, it's not a half we should lose 2-0 but we did.
"It's the Premier League, it's the small bits that decide football matches. We deserved more. I will say that I'm a strong believer that if we play that game again then we would win it.
"You're too invested in it to stand and smile, but inside you're burning. I hate losing. We can still finish eighth - that would be our highest in the Premier League.
"We have two players on 19 goals, there are so many positives. We need a little bit of help from Liverpool against Brighton.
"Everything is on. We will go into the last game of the season. Even if we finish in the top 10 then it is an unbelievable performance from this club and this team. We will do all we can to win at Wolves.
"Of course I am committed. We've just lost to Fulham, our local rivals. I am fuming."
