Axel Disasi will spend the rest of the season at Aston Villa after a deadline-day loan switch from Chelsea.

Aston Villa rounded off a busy transfer window by bringing in Chelsea defender Axel Disasi on loan.

Unai Emery had been keen to bolster his defensive options following Diego Carlos' departure to Fenerbahce.

And after a late tug-of-war with Tottenham, Villa got their man, with Disasi joining on loan until the end of the season.

It has been reported Villa will pay Chelsea a £5million loan fee.

Disasi joined Chelsea from Monaco in 2023. While he was a regular last term, making 31 Premier League appearances, the 26-year-old has not been a common fixture in the Blues' side under Enzo Maresca.

The France international became Villa's fifth signing of the winter window, following on from the loan additions of Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio, and the permanent signings of Donyell Malen and Andres Garcia.

Villa sit eighth in the Premier League following Saturday's 2-0 loss at Wolves, though they have progressed to the last 16 of the Champions League.
