Postecoglou offers no defence of Tottenham's domestic struggles

Ange Postecoglou admitted Tottenham were nowhere near good enough as they fell to a 20th league defeat of the season.
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou conceded his team are "nowhere near the level we need to be" after a 2-0 home loss to Crystal Palace.
Spurs are now 17th in the Premier League after Sunday's defeat, despite having made the Europa League final.
Postecoglou made eight changes from the side that clinched a spot in the Bilbao showpiece by overcoming Bodo/Glimt, but Spurs were distinctly second best against a Palace side that could have easily added more to their tally.
Eberechi Eze scored a brace, while the visitors also had two goals disallowed in the early stages.
Spurs have lost 20 times in the league, while they have suffered 24 defeats across all competitions, only losing more matches in a single season in their history in 1991-92 (25 defeats).
And Postecoglou offered no defence of his side’s listless display.
"I’m disappointed," Postecoglou told Sky Sports.
"It's clear we're not anywhere near the level we need to be.
"It was disappointing, we never really got into the game, and we didn't control it at any time."
Postecoglou has been consistently rotating his side in the league in order to cope with their European excursions, and he believes that has contributed to no wins in their last five top-flight games.
He said: "The issue is making multiple changes, we aren't reacting well to that."
Spurs’ miserable day was compounded by Dejan Kulusevski going off injured after just 20 minutes, but Postecoglou is confident the Swede will be fit for the Europa League final.
"He should be ok," said Postecoglou.
"I just spoke to him. The medical team are not concerned about him, it was just a knock."
Crystal Palace head coach Oliver Glasner said his side’s performance was a great way to ready themselves for the FA Cup final next week.
Glasner’s men will be attempting to win the club’s first major trophy when they take on Manchester City at Wembley.
He told Sky Sports: "We created so many situations and then you need those players in the box to score the goals.
"I'm really delighted with the performance, it's good preparation for the FA Cup final."
Eze’s goals proved the difference between the two sides, and he has now scored in three consecutive league matches for the first time in his career, with Glasner pleased to have the England international thriving ahead of the final.
"It’s good to have him in good shape," said Glasner. "He's scored some amazing goals. Today's were two empty net goals. It's good to have all our players in the best shape at crunch time."
