Inter 2-2 Bologna: Holm equaliser ends hosts' Serie A winning streak
Despite pushing for a late winner, Inter were forced to settle for a point in a draw with Bologna thanks to Emil Holm's second-half goal.
Inter were held to a 2-2 draw by Bologna in Serie A on Wednesday, with Emil Holm's goal snapping Simone Inzaghi's side's six-game winning run.
Bologna started brightly, with Yann Sommer forced into a brilliant early save to deny Nikola Moro before the visitors took a shock lead when Santiago Castro deflected the ball into the net from close range.
Inter only took four minutes to fire back though, with Denzel Dumfries reacting quickest in the box after Lukasz Skorupski had kept out Federico Dimarco's powerful strike.
Sommer kept the score level with another fine stop to keep out Jens Odgaard before Lautaro Martinez gave the hosts the lead in first-half stoppage time, firing a superb shot into the roof of the net.
Holm then levelled for Bologna in the 64th minute, with his low strike taking a deflection off Nicolo Barella to help it onto the post and over the line, and despite Inter's late push for a winner, they struggled to find an end product that could lead to a winner.
Inter remain second in the standings on 44 points, trailing leaders Napoli by three points, though they have a game in hand. Bologna are eighth on 30 points.
Data Debrief: Inter's leaky defence
Inter had won their last six Serie A games coming into this match, a run dating back to mid-November, but missed chances cost them at San Siro on Wednesday.
At the top end of the pitch, Inter have scored at least one goal in each of their last 32 Serie A home games, only once going on a longer streak in their history (60 between August 2005 and October 2008).
However, Holm's goal was the 12th they have conceded at San Siro in Serie A already this term, one more than the total they let in during the whole of last campaign.
Bologna were deserving of their equaliser though. They have now picked up 16 points from their first 10 away games this season in Serie A, setting a new club record in that many matches in the three-points-per-win era (since 1994-95).
